Of course I've been posting and documenting. I am going to summarize and facebook purge right here.
March 11- My hubby's birthday. We went out to eat in our small town for little did we know our last family and meal out. Our school was on spring break. We did know what was coming. I had already cancelled a trip to see my parents that day.
March 12- We did go to the ortho, glad we got that in, I picked up a few groceries. Disneyland closes.
March 13- We got more purposeful with our social distancing, deciding not to go to the city for supper. A lot of processing was going on as shown as my facebook posts below from this date.
Congrats to M for receiving this award!! We were looking forward to celebrating this day on April 8. 😔
"On behalf of the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts, we regret to inform you that the 23rd annual Nebraska Young Artist Awards scheduled for April 8th has been CANCELLED due to the continuous and rapid spread of COVID-19. The safety of faculty, staff, and students are our concern. Each award recipient will be mailed their award certificate, a copy of the program, and a custom print on a later date."
Thinking of all high schoolers and college kids that are losing out on these moments. We see you and we feel for you. You have worked so hard and we are proud of you!
Some times I think the world gives us time to slow down. I wish it wasn't so extreme this time but it is time to slow down and pray for those in healthcare who do not get to slow down.
"One week ago, Italy had 2,502 cases of the virus, which causes the disease known as COVID-19. At that point, doctors in the country’s hospitals could still perform the most lifesaving functions by artificially ventilating patients who experienced acute breathing difficulties."
Today they have somewhere between 10,000 and 13,000 (I've seen all kinds of numbers).
This is what we are trying to prevent.
March 14- Began some selfcare to cope with gloom and doom.
Starting my comfort show (other than FRIENDS). #parenthood
March 15-Dance practice cancelled. Orchestra concert cancelled.
"We are just all going to have to do our best here and cover everything with buckets of grace. No one asked for this. Our Plan B’s will be imperfect and wonky. Our collective mantra will have to be: “This is good enough. Everyone is trying their hardest.”~Jen Hatmaker
March 16- Began elearning, eteaching.
"In the USA, we have three pathways for COVID-19:
1) The country views this challenge like WWI and WWII, and almost everyone does the right things, and we will be harmed but okay.
2) Many people do the right things, and many don’t, and we will have the same struggles that Italy is enduring.
3) People blow this disease off as no big deal, and our healthcare system (and life as we know it) will be crippled."~Quoted from something

Grocery stores start opening earlier for senior citizens.
March 17- Had an eye appointment for J. Last trip to grocery store for me.
March 18- Day #3 of elearning, no power. 🤦♀️
March 19- Hubby starting working from home. We are all at home. I call this shelter at home Day #1 Starting using beach scenes and other you tube scenes to calm my anxiety. Anxiety was high at this point trying to figure everything out. Started to feel sad about losing out on J's only sports season, clogging. Started to feel better about eteaching.
elearning Day#1 What the heck are we doing? This is so stressful.
elearning Day#2 I can't do this. 😟
elearning Day#3 It's coming together! How the heck did we pull this off in 3 days?!!! Teachers are amazing. 😁
elearning Day#4 I got this.
On the plus side, facebook just got a whole lot more entertaining!
March 21- I can't decide if I want my facebook page to be full of happy things or doom and gloom because truth is we don't have enough controls in place. I can post some scary statistics but people still won't want to read it. I also don't want to be the person to have to tell people that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those of you practice social distancing. I just want to get back to school, activities, and have a normal summer! I also want to see the rest of my family soon.
March 22- "How long will we have to keep social distancing?
Probably for several months. But we may have to do it over and over again, since the outbreak could come in waves.Research by the Imperial College in Great Britain "would suggest you have to institute these kinds of measures for five months, very vigorously," says Gounder, the infectious disease specialist.
"And then you may be able to relax for a period. And then you would re-institute as the cases go up again. But we're basically looking at doing this over and over and over again, even after a five-month period of strict social distancing, in order to curb cases until we have a vaccine." How long will we have to keep social distancing?"
We are voluntarily sheltering in place in Nebraska (that lasted for 4 weeks in our house). We can fight this Nebraska/Iowa!
March 23- First Covid19 case in my small town.
March 25- So sad to cancel M's concert with the Omaha Symphony! Hopefully she will get one in next year.
Dear Youth Symphony,
I (Aviva) am so proud of the work you have done this season. It truly breaks my heart to tell you that the May 3, 2020 side by side concert needs to be cancelled. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 concerns, the Omaha Symphony has cancelled all events up to and including the side by side concert and will not be able to schedule us back in during the remaining part of their season. In addition, that is the time many schools start having graduations, which would make rescheduling challenging even if it were possible.
5 total cases of Covid19 in my small town.
12 days into social distancing
10 days into elearning
6 days into sheltering at home
10 days into elearning
6 days into sheltering at home
Thankful for our private lessons during this time!
March 26- This was a good video. I mean if you are gonna go all out, do it right. Watch to the end to see him say that coronavirus can last years in the freezer. We just took all of the outside containers off of our freezer items that we brought into the house. #stayhome #bekind #wipeyourgroceriestherightway #omahasteaksfordays
March 27- My love for pajamas lives on!
March 28- My county gets a D on social distancing. 8 cases of Covid19 in my small town.

Go for a walk they said, it’s good for you they said. Welp, This hit me like a ton of bricks and the sad feelings started over. We want off this roller coaster 🎢! Just had to say it out loud. I know this will pass, I AM grateful we can all be home, we are healthy etc. but that doesn’t mean it isn’t hard.
19 cases of Covid19 in my small town.
I’m officially the worst cook in the house. #ignorethemess
PHew, that was a lot. Stay tune for the April edition....
